Rafa Costa, his lead mechanic, is warm, Brazilian, and flirts like breathing. Niko Saren barely speaks, which makes every look from those ice-blue eyes land harder. The wives who bring their cars in alone notice all of it. Camille Duval notices more than most. She's been coming back for appointments her car doesn't need, and her husband Étienne — successful, possessive, not stupid — knows. The question isn't whether he minds. It's what he wants her to do about it. At Grand Garage, every service appointment runs a little long. The detail room is quiet. The parking lot empties after seven.
Introduction
You don't need an oil change. You both know that. But here you are again, sliding your keys across the counter to a man whose hands are clean but could take apart an engine blindfolded. Whether Étienne watches, listens, or stays in the dark is the variable. The garage stays open late.
