October 7, 2026
- You can now give a story its own name, description and cover, separate from the first chapter. Open a chapter, click Edit Chapter, and switch to the new Edit Story tab. What you set there is shown on your story cards and in downloads. Leave a field empty and the first chapter's title, description or illustration is used, as before.
- The Edit Story tab is also the new place for the narrative arc, the writing packs a story belongs to, and whether the story is Spicy or Vanilla, because these apply to the whole story and not to a single chapter.
- You can also reach the page from the Edit story button on your story cards.

- Uncensored illustrations are back. In Content Preferences, under Images, the Explicit illustrations setting now has three levels instead of a single switch. Sensual keeps illustrations romantic and suggestive, with no nudity. Erotic allows nudity, while sexual acts and genitals stay out of frame. Uncensored sends your image prompt to the image model as written, so sexual acts and genitals may be shown.
- If you had explicit images enabled, you are now on Erotic, so nothing changes until you choose Uncensored yourself. Erotic and Uncensored are Premium settings. Keep in mind that image models handle very explicit scenes less reliably, so distorted anatomy appears more often on the Uncensored level. Every illustration, at every level, is still checked by image moderation.
- You can now download your stories as a Word document. Open the Download menu on any chapter, choose Story as PDF, EPUB or DOCX, and pick DOCX. The file opens in Word, Google Docs, Pages, or any other word processor, so you can keep editing your story in your own tool. The story name, your chapter titles, and your illustrations are all included, and you can give the document a book title and an author name before you download it. DOCX downloads are available to Premium members and are in beta, so please tell us if something does not look right.
- There are also two improvements to the story form today.
- The Central Challenge or Quest list has a new group: Romance Tropes. Many of you asked for the classic relationship arcs, so you can now choose Friends to Lovers, Coworkers to Lovers, Enemies to Lovers, Rival Friends to Lovers, Rivals to Lovers, Exes to Lovers, Strangers to Lovers, Roommates to Lovers, Fake Relationship Turns Real, Marriage of Convenience, Forced Proximity, Opposites Attract, and Grumpy Falls for Cheerful. Each one gives the AI clear guidance on how the relationship should develop over the chapter.
- You can find the list in the story form under Advanced Settings. It also works when you regenerate a chapter.
- Plugins are also more open now. Free accounts can create and install as many plugins as they like; the one-plugin limit is gone. Per chapter, free accounts can enable up to 2 plugins, up from 1, and Premium accounts up to 15, up from 10. Keep in mind that every plugin adds its own instructions to the same prompt, so a few focused plugins usually give better results than many.

- You can now invite friends and earn audio credits together. Open the new Share & Earn page in your account to get your personal invite link. When a friend creates an account through your link and makes their first purchase, you each receive 3 audio credits. There is no limit to how many friends you can invite, and every friend who makes a first purchase earns you 3 more credits.
- You can send your link any way you like, or let us send the invitation for you: enter your friends' email addresses on the same page, and each of them receives a short invitation in your name with your link inside. The page also shows everyone you invited and whether they have signed up or made their first purchase, so you always know where your credits come from.

- You can now reference earlier chapters in your prompt. This is the feature many of you asked for: it gives the AI the full text of the chapters you point at, so it remembers what happened there. Use it to bring back an event, a conversation, or a small detail from an important chapter, or to continue a scene exactly as it ended. Referenced chapters can come from the story you are writing or from any other story in your account.
- To reference a chapter, type @chapter in your prompt, or type @ and choose Reference a chapter. A search window opens where you can find a chapter by its name or by the name of its story. Select a chapter and it appears in your prompt as a small label. Then write what you want the AI to take from that chapter, for example: continue from where this chapter ends, or bring back the promise they made in this chapter. You can reference up to five chapters in one prompt, and it also works when you regenerate a chapter.
- This feature is in beta. It works best when your prompt says clearly what you want from the referenced chapter. We are still improving how the AI uses it, and your feedback helps us most. Please tell us what worked and what did not at [email protected].
- Added new image generation model: Seedream 5.0 Flash. It is the fastest model of the newest Seedream generation and supports explicit content. It is available to Premium members for chapter illustrations. It also comes in a Character Consistency version, Seedream 5.0 Flash Edit, which keeps your characters matching their reference images from one illustration to the next. You can select either model in your image preferences.

- Added new image generation model: Qwen Image 2.1. It is available to Premium members for chapter illustrations, portraits, and the Image Generator.
- Your story list also has a new sort option: Recently updated. It puts the stories you worked on most recently at the top, so you can pick up where you left off. A story moves up whenever any of its chapters changes: a new chapter is written, a chapter is regenerated or edited, or a chapter is moved, deleted, or restored. Open My Stories and choose Recently updated from the sort menu.

- You can now choose how chapter titles are written. Open Writing preferences and pick a title style. Literary is the default: evocative titles in the style of a novel, built on one image or moment from the chapter. This is the style you already know. If you would rather see at once what a story is about, choose Descriptive: these titles name the main character and describe what happens in the chapter, so you can quickly recognize a story in your library.
- If you prefer numbered chapters, like in most novels, choose Hidden. Chapter pages, the chapter menu, and PDF, EPUB, and HTML downloads then show only the chapter number. Your story list keeps its titles, so you can still find every story. A title is still written for each chapter, so you can turn titles back on at any time.
- Downloads now show the story name at the top of the document. The story name is also used as the file name and as the book title of the EPUB.

- The story writing form has been rebuilt. The old form was one long column. It worked well for simple stories, but it became hard to use when a story world had many characters, locations, items, social groups, and plugins. The new form keeps every option and helps you write faster.
- Type @ in your prompt to select characters, locations, plugins, and any other element of your story, right where you are writing. You no longer need to scroll through long lists.
- You can now choose which of your characters narrates the chapter. Select a point of view, and the AI writes the chapter from the perspective of that character.
- The new form also makes it possible to build one of the most requested features: referencing earlier chapters from your account to give the AI more context. This will work the same way, with @.

- Locations, items, and social groups now have an Alternative names field, just like the Nicknames field on characters. Add the other names a place, object, or group goes by in your stories, separated by commas, and the AI will use them while writing so every name refers to the same thing.
- Alternative names also help keep your locations tidy. When a chapter mentions a place by one of its alternative names, the AI recognizes it as the location you already have instead of creating a duplicate. Keep the names specific: a generic name like "the house" would make every house in your stories count as that location.

- Three new image generation models are available today: Muse, Seedream V5 Lite, and Wan V2.7. Muse is open to all members and creates very detailed, beautiful illustrations that follow your chosen image style closely. You can use it everywhere images are made: chapter illustrations, portraits of your characters, locations, items, and social groups, and the Image Generator. Keep in mind that Muse only makes safe-for-work images: it declines prompts that describe explicit scenes, so it is best suited for your softer, more suggestive moments.
- Premium members also get Seedream V5 Lite and Wan V2.7, and both support explicit content. Seedream V5 Lite is a faster, lighter model from the newest Seedream generation. Wan V2.7 produces very nice illustrations and is a great choice for comic-style images; it can occasionally add unwanted text or frames to a picture, and if that happens, simply generate the illustration again.
- Each of the three models also comes in a Character Consistency version: Muse Edit, Seedream V5 Lite Edit, and Wan V2.7 Edit, all available to Premium members. Choose one of these when you want your characters to match their reference images, so they keep the same face and look from one illustration to the next.

- Chapter text now puts dialogue in italics by default, so spoken lines and narration are easy to tell apart while you read. This is the Formatted display mode, and it is on for everyone unless you choose otherwise.
- If you do not like the automatic italics and prefer to format your text yourself, open Content preferences, go to Interface, and set Story display mode to Formatted (Manual). Your chapters are then shown exactly as they were written or edited, with no automatic italics or other changes, so everything you style in Edit Mode stays the way you left it.

- You can now buy an AI Builder Boost when you want to create more than your daily allowance allows. One boost raises the daily AI build allowance for characters, locations, items, and social groups — all four builders at once. It comes in three sizes: an extra 20 builds a day for 24 hours, 40 for 48 hours, or 80 for 96 hours.
- Boosts are available to Premium members on the checkout page. The usage pages for the four builders now show a Buy more slots button when your daily allowance is used up, and once a boost is active they show how much it adds and when it expires. The AI World Builder is not included and keeps its own daily allowance.

- You can now move several chapters from one story to another in a single step. On the Reorder chapters page, click Insert chapter where the chapters should go and choose Move from Another Story. Pick the story, tick the chapters you want — or use select all — and they are moved together, keeping their original order.
- This makes it much easier to merge a side story back into your main story. You can move up to 100 chapters at a time; if you need to move more, repeat the same steps for the next group. A move either completes for all selected chapters or not at all, so an interruption can never leave it half done.
- PDF downloads now work in every language. Stories written in Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean can be downloaded as PDF too, with the text rendered correctly and the layout flipped for right-to-left languages.
- PDF formatting also got better for all stories. Paragraphs now flow naturally from one page to the next instead of being pushed to a new page whenever they did not fit, so pages are fuller and your story reads like a printed book.

- You can now let time pass between chapters. Below every chapter, in the "How should the story continue?" section, click the link to regenerate suggestions and turn on the new Time lapse option. A slider appears where you choose how much time goes by before the next chapter, from a few hours to a year or more, and every new suggestion then picks up after that gap, with circumstances and feelings that had time to change.
- Combine it with the other quick directions, like Slower burn or Change the setting, or with your own written preferences, and the time skip is woven into all of them. No more typing notes like "three days later" into your requests to move the story forward in time.

- You can now archive writing packs. When a series is finished or you want to set a world aside for a while, archive its pack to keep your Writing Packs page focused on what you are writing now. Nothing is deleted: the pack moves to the new Archived tab, and you can restore it anytime from its edit page.
- You also choose what goes with it. The archive dialog lists the stories, characters, locations, items, and social groups that belong only to that pack — tick the ones you want to archive along with it, or use select all. Anything that also appears in another pack stays active.
- Restoring a pack also brings back everything that was archived together with it, so your world returns exactly as you left it.

- Many of you asked to bring the stories you have written yourself, and now you can. The Story Writer has a new mode: Paste your own. Paste a chapter, give it a name, and save it. It becomes a regular chapter in your library, so you can illustrate its scenes, add audio narration, and let the AI write the next chapter from where you stopped.
- Your formatting is preserved when you paste from Word or Google Docs, and you can also drop a text file straight into the editor. If your text begins with a title, it is suggested as the chapter name.
- This also works inside an existing story. Continue any of your stories, switch to Paste your own, and the new chapter is inserted right after the one you are continuing. Your own writing and generated chapters can live side by side in the same story.
- Chapters you add yourself do not count toward your daily story limit.

- Two improvements to story ideas today. You can now decide who appears in your generated ideas: a new option in the Generate Story Ideas dialog lets you choose whether to use characters and locations from your library — keep it on to feature your own cast, or turn it off to get ideas with completely new characters and places.
- You can now also clean up your story ideas faster. On the My Story Ideas page, select several ideas at once and delete them together — tick the checkbox on each card, or use select all, and remove them in one click.

- Introducing Clubs — your stories finally have an audience, and you choose every single member. Share the stories you're proud of with people you trust: nothing is ever shared unless you decide to share it, and nobody can join unless you allow it. Invite members yourself, approve join requests, and keep everything else private, just for you.
- Build a club around whatever inspires you most — a favorite genre, theme, or shared interest — or simply bring together members who write in your language. Clubs are made for finding your people: readers and writers who love exactly what you love, however niche your interests.
- Your privacy comes first: every club is private by default and invisible to everyone outside it. Want to grow? Allow us to feature your club, and it will appear on the Featured Clubs page where new members can discover it.
- And this is just the beginning — soon you'll be able to comment on stories and share more of your world: Characters, Locations, Items, Social Groups, and more. Imagine creating entire worlds together with your club.

- You can now archive images. Archiving hides an image from your gallery without deleting it — a gentle way to tidy up while keeping every creation safe. Archived images live under the new Archived tab on the Manage Images page, and you can unarchive them anytime.
- Archive a single image from its detail page, or select several at once and archive them together with one click.

- Introducing Social Groups — bring the factions of your world to life. A noble house, a crime family, a knightly order, a coven, a corporation, a sports team, a whole species — define it once and it stays the same in every chapter: same name, same emblem, same agenda. Manage them under the new Social Groups page, alongside your Characters, Locations, and Items.
- Give each group its own card: appearance and emblem, goals and ideology, structure and leadership, history, influence, and customs. Add Traits & Abilities to capture the innate powers every member shares — perfect for species and races in fantasy and sci-fi worlds. Give your elves their heightened senses, your vampires their thirst, your psychic orders their telepathy.
- Use AI to build a Social Group from a short description — type something like "a secretive order of mages that guards the old bloodlines" and AI fills in the card and generates a matching emblem image for you.
- Tie groups into your world with relationships — allies and rivals, a character leading a guild, a syndicate controlling the docks, an order sworn to protect a relic. Groups slot into your Writing Packs alongside Characters, Locations, and Items.
