  • We rebuilt story downloads. PDF export is now faster and more reliable, because your file is prepared in the background instead of keeping you waiting. Premium users also get more control: choose a start and end chapter, and export up to 100 chapters at once. EPUB support is coming soon!

  • You now have more control over the Proofreader in your Content Preferences. Keep it fixing critical issues only, have it also tidy up minor ones, or turn it off completely to make generations faster.

  • Added a Life Status to Characters โ€” mark someone as Alive, Deceased, Missing, Presumed Dead, a Ghost, Undead and more. Perfect for murder mysteries, family sagas, and sprawling fantasy worlds. The status shows on your character cards and is woven into the story so the AI keeps track of who's still around.
June 10, 2026
  • Added bulk deletion for Items, Characters, and Locations โ€” select several at once and clear out your library in a few clicks.
  • Refreshed the look of the Items, Characters, and Locations lists for a cleaner, easier-to-scan layout.
June 9, 2026
  • Improved the story generation forms โ€” you can now search your Characters, Locations, and Items by name for quicker selection. More improvements are on the way.
  • Released versions for story Characters โ€” create alternative versions of a character and switch between them right in the story generation form. Great for an undercover alias, a secret alter ego, a disguise, or the same person playing a different persona.

  • Launched a new quality layer that cleans up each chapter after it's generated: it keeps the text in your language, removes garbled characters and leftover tokens, fixes spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and collapses repeated or looping sentences. It does not rewrite your story โ€” same plot, characters, and explicitness, just cleaner. It catches the critical issues (some minor ones may still slip through) and adds a little to the wait time, but we think the quality is worth it.
June 7, 2026
  • Added new AI narration voices across English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.
June 4, 2026
  • Added new image style: "Pixel Art" โ€” detailed 16-bit, retro game-inspired art with a crisp pixel grid, dithered shading, and bold colors. A nostalgic, SNES-era RPG look for your portraits, scenes, and book covers.
  • Added two new social relationship types: Enemy with Benefits and Rival with Benefits โ€” for all those enemies-to-lovers and rivals-to-lovers slow burns where the tension boils over before the feelings catch up.
  • Added new power-dynamic relationship types for spy and intrigue tropes: Informant and their Handler, plus the Information Broker who trades secrets to a Client. Perfect for slow-burn tension built on dangerous knowledge.

  • Introduced Story Items โ€” a new way to anchor recurring objects in your stories. A signature dress, a named sword, a wedding ring, a beloved pet, a plot-driving letter โ€” anything that should stay identical chapter to chapter. Manage them under the new Items page, alongside Characters and Locations.
  • Use AI to build a Story Item from a short description โ€” type something like "a slinky red dress with hidden ties" or "the Sword of Eldrin, glows near undead" and AI fills in the appearance, properties, history, and significance for you.
  • Tie items into your world with relationships โ€” to other items, to locations, and to characters. A sword wielded by a knight, an amulet sealing a tomb, paired wedding rings, a familiar bonded to its witch.
  • Items slot into your existing Writing Packs the same way Characters and Locations do โ€” group everything that belongs to one universe under one roof.
May 21, 2026
  • Added new genre: Dark Comedy โ€” a mix of dark romance, romcom, and comedy. For when regular comedy and romcom feel too playful, and dark romance feels too steamy on its own.
  • Added new metallic eye colors: Rose Gold, Copper, Bronze, Silver Metallic, and Gold Metallic.
May 4, 2026
  • You can now paint over a specific part of an image when editing it โ€” only the painted area will be changed, while the rest stays untouched. Great for swapping an outfit, a prop, or a background without altering everything else. Leave the image blank to edit the whole picture like before.
  • Added two new AI text model options: "Fastest" automatically routes each chapter to whichever model is responding quickest right now, and "Auto" rotates across a curated mix of high-quality models โ€” premium users get a stronger pool.
  • Added new pack/werewolf-themed relationship types: character relationships (Mate, Mated to, Bonded, Bonded to, Pack Mate, Alpha, Luna, Beta, Delta, Omega, Pack Member, Sired, Sired by) and territorial relationships (Alpha of, Luna of, Beta of, Delta of, Omega of, Member of pack in, Hunts in, Dens in, Marks territory of).
  • Added Farm and Barn to location types.
  • Added Wolf-like to fantasy eye colors.
April 29, 2026
  • Added Pretend Relationships โ€” a new category for fake dating, fake marriage, and undercover romance tropes. Includes Fake Partner, Fake Spouse, Fake Girlfriend, Fake Boyfriend, Fake Fiancรฉ, and Fake Fiancรฉe.
April 28, 2026
  • Writing packs now get relationships generated automatically โ€” between characters, between locations, and between characters and locations. This happens both when you create a new world via World Builder, and when you open an existing pack that has characters or locations but no relationships yet.
April 27, 2026
  • You can now define multiple relationships between the same characters to capture more complex dynamics โ€” for example, two characters who live in the same dorm and are best friends, or who share a university class and are enemies.
April 24, 2026
  • Added Scene Visualisation (Premium) โ€” in Edit mode, highlight any passage in your chapter and click Visualise to generate an illustration for that scene, placed inline. Uses the image model and style from your settings so characters and look stay consistent. Costs one image credit per visualisation. Works best on desktop.
  • Added the ability to insert existing images into your chapters โ€” in Edit mode, pick any image from your library and drop it into the chapter.
  • Added Export & Import for characters and locations โ€” save the values you've filled in to a file on your device, then import it later to fill the form again in seconds. Great as a personal backup or for keeping different variations side by side.
April 23, 2026
  • Upgraded AI Worldbuilder to a more powerful AI model โ€” it should now follow your prompts more strictly and produce higher quality outputs.
April 22, 2026
  • Added options in Content Preferences to disable Story Ideas and Chapter Continuation Ideas โ€” for users who prefer writing their own prompts without AI suggestions.
April 17, 2026
  • Added new image style: "Sketch" โ€” hand-drawn pencil illustrations on paper with loose, expressive linework, cross-hatching, and a monochrome sketchbook feel. Great for intimate, artisanal portraits, scenes, and book covers.
April 10, 2026
  • You can now move single-chapter stories into other stories. If the AI created a new story when it should have continued an existing one, you can move that chapter into the correct story manually.
April 4, 2026
  • Improved AI-generated character variety โ€” more diverse names, appearances, and features across characters.
  • Improved World Builder โ€” better adherence to user preferences and more distinct, varied characters and locations.
