Visualizing Relationships in Your Writing Pack
Our new interactive Relationship Graph lets you map out characters, locations, and their connections in your Writing Pack. Whether you're crafting a complex novel or an epic series, this feature helps you organize relationships, spot opportunities, and maintain consistencyโall while building a more immersive story world.
The Relationship Graph is an interactive feature that lets you see all the connections between characters and locations within your Writing Pack. It's designed to help you track complex storylines, spot storytelling opportunities, and maintain consistency in your world-building.
How to Get Started
- Define Relationships First: To use this feature, edit your character and scroll to the "Relationships" block. Here, you can define connections with other characters and locations.
- Access the Relationship Graph: Once you've defined relationships, open your Writing Pack. Below the Characters section, you'll find the Relationships block where you can view the graph.

How Does It Work?
- Color-Coded Nodes for Clarity
- Main Characters: Displayed with a green border, making it easy to spot your protagonists.
- Antagonists: Marked with a red border to highlight sources of conflict.
- Locations: Appear as regular nodes in the graph, representing the places where your story unfolds.
- Relationship Lines
- Dashed Lines: Represent character-to-character relationships (e.g., friendships, rivalries, romantic ties).
- Solid Lines: Show connections between locations and characters (e.g., where they live, where events happen).
- Interactive Features
- Click to Explore: Click on any character or location node to see all its relationships in detail. For instance, clicking a character will highlight their friends, enemies, associated locations, and more.
- Drag and Rearrange: Rearrange nodes to customize the layout. This makes it easier to focus on specific parts of your graph or align the nodes in a way that makes sense to you.
Benefits of Using the Relationship Graph
- Track Complex Relationships Easily Quickly understand how characters and locations connect, even in multi-layered storylines.
- Spot Gaps or New Opportunities Identify missing interactions between characters or unused locations that could enrich your story.
- Enhance Consistency Keep track of every relationship so you don’t accidentally contradict yourself later.
- Streamline World-Building The graph includes locations, helping you create a more immersive and believable world.
- Perfect for Series Writers If you're working on a multi-book series, this graph can help you maintain continuity across your projects.
