How to Use AI Edit on My Spicy Vanilla

AI Edit lets you change one part of a chapter without regenerating the whole thing. You select a sentence or a few paragraphs, tell the AI what to change, and it rewrites only that part. The rest of the chapter stays exactly as it is. On My Spicy Vanilla it lives in Edit mode, the page you open with the Edit button on any chapter.

Use it when a chapter is mostly right but one scene is too short, a line of dialogue feels flat, or the ending goes further than you wanted. Free accounts get 3 AI edits per day and 30 per month; Premium accounts get 150 per day and 2,000 per month.

Open Edit mode

1. Open the chapter from My Stories and click Edit at the top of the page.
2. You can also click Regenerate and choose Edit selected sections. That screen explains the same steps and its Open Edit mode button takes you to the editor.

The editor works like a normal text editor: you can type, delete and format text directly, and the toolbar has Undo and Redo. AI Edit adds an Ask AI button to that toolbar and a small toolbar that appears whenever you select text.

Step 1: select the passage

Highlight the text you want to change. On a computer, click and drag with the mouse. On a phone, tap inside the text and use the buttons at the bottom of the editor: Select Sentence, Select Paragraph or Select All.

As soon as something is selected, a toolbar appears under the selection. You can select up to 8,000 characters at once, but one sentence to a few paragraphs gives the best results, because the AI follows short instructions more precisely on short passages.

Step 2: choose a shortcut or write your own instruction

The selection toolbar offers ready-made edits. The buttons change with the length of the selection, so you only see the ones that make sense.

• Find Synonym (one word selected): replaces the word with one that fits the sentence.
• Fix Grammar (3 words or more): corrects spelling, grammar and punctuation without changing the meaning or the wording.
• More opens a menu with Expand (2 to 500 words), Shorten (5 words or more) and Rewrite (3 words or more).
• The same menu has tone shortcuts for selections of 5 words or more: Less or More Romantic, Emotional, Suspenseful, Intense and Erotic. Each one keeps the passage about the same length and only shifts the tone.
• Visualise (Premium, 3 words or more): turns the selected scene into an illustration and inserts it after the passage. It is not an AI edit and does not count towards the edit limits. The illustrations tutorial explains it step by step.
• Clear formatting at the bottom of the menu removes bold, italic and other styling. It is instant and does not use the AI.

When none of the shortcuts fits, click Ask AI. A bar opens with the field Ask AI to edit or generate.... Type what you want to change in plain language and press Send. An instruction can be up to 1,000 characters, but one clear sentence usually works best.

Examples of instructions:

• Rewrite this from Marcus's point of view.
• Replace the narration with a short argument about the letter, in dialogue.
• Slow the pace down and make the kiss more heated, but stop before they reach the bedroom.
• Have Elena tease him a little longer before she answers.
• End the scene with her closing the door and waiting. No further action.

Good to know: you can also click Ask AI in the top toolbar with nothing selected. The AI then writes a new passage at the cursor, based on your instruction and the chapter summary. Use this to add a missing beat between two existing paragraphs.

Step 3: review the suggestion

The selected passage is highlighted while the AI works, and the suggestion appears in a panel above the instruction bar after a few seconds. Nothing in the chapter changes until you decide:

• Insert replaces the selected text with the suggestion. The new text is briefly highlighted so you can see exactly what changed. If you change your mind, use Undo in the toolbar.
• Try again sends the same instruction once more and gives you a different version. Each attempt counts as one AI edit.
• Discard throws the suggestion away, keeps your selection and lets you type a different instruction.

Pressing Escape or clicking outside the bar closes it without changing anything. AI responses can be inaccurate, so read the suggestion before you insert it, especially names and small details.

Step 4: save the chapter

AI edits only live in the editor until you save. When you are happy with the result, scroll down and click Update. If you try to leave the page with unsaved changes, the browser warns you first.

After a bigger change, the chapter summary and other details are regenerated in the background, and a message tells you so. The summary is what later chapters use as memory, so this keeps the story consistent. If you narrated the chapter, regenerate the audio afterwards, because audio narration is not updated when the text changes.

What the AI knows while editing

The AI does not only see the selected text. It also receives your story's characters, locations and items, the genre, the language, and your writing preferences: Content Comfort Level, writing tense and Language Complexity. That is why an edit matches the voice of the rest of the chapter, and why the suggestion is always in the story's language even if you write the instruction in another one.

Unless you ask it to expand or shorten, the AI keeps the suggestion about the same length as the selection and keeps the same number of paragraphs. Plugins are not applied to AI edits, so if a Plugin rule matters for the passage, repeat it in the instruction. The Plugins tutorial explains what Plugins do cover.

Limits and common messages

• Only one AI edit runs at a time per account. If you start another one before the first finishes, you are asked to wait.
• You can send at most 3 requests per minute. The daily and monthly limits count every request from the last 24 hours and the last 30 days, and the panel tells you when you reach one.
• Every instruction is checked by an automatic moderation system before the AI runs it. If it is blocked, the panel shows Your submission contains content that is not allowed together with the reason. Rephrase the instruction and try again.
• A chapter that was flagged by moderation cannot be edited. You can regenerate it to get a new version instead.
• If a suggestion never arrives or the panel shows an error, close the bar, select the passage again and retry. For other problems, see the troubleshooting guide.

Tips for better edits

• Ask for one change at a time. "Make the dialogue shorter" works better than "Make the dialogue shorter, add a storm and change the ending".
• Use direct, imperative sentences. Tell the AI what to do, not what to avoid: "Keep the tone tender" instead of "Don't make it too intense". The story prompts tutorial explains why positive instructions work better.
• Select a little context. If you only want one sentence changed, still include the sentence before and after it, so the AI can match the rhythm of the scene.
• Name the characters. "Have Elena answer first" is clearer than "Have her answer first" when two people are in the scene.
• Work in passes. Fix the plot of a scene first, then run Fix Grammar or a tone shortcut on the result.

Final tip

For your first AI edit, pick a paragraph you already like and try Expand or Rewrite from the More menu. You will see how the suggestion panel, Insert and Undo work without risking anything. Once that feels natural, move on to Ask AI with your own instructions, and remember to click Update before you leave the page.
